Discovering Meso America

Mesoamerica is an important historical region and cultural area in the Americas, extending from approximately central Mexico through Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and northern Costa Rica, and within which pre-Columbian societies flourished before the Spanish colonization of the Americas in the 15th and 16th centuries.

 

 

ITINERARY

DAY 1:         ARRIVAL MEXICO CITY

Your arrival is meeting by our representative outside the customs area. Transfer to the Hotel. Lunch and Dinner not included

 

 

DAY 2:        MEXICO CITY – TEOTIHUACÁN – MEXICO CITY 

Breakfast at the hotel Pick up to visit 3 Culture Square and Guadalupe shrine and continue to Teotihuacán (42 km from Mexico City) Teotihuacan, which means the place where men become gods. These are among the most important pre-Hispanic ruins in the Americas due to their masterful urban layout, the monumental architecture and the strong religious and political influence that Teotihuacan held over other cities, here we will visit the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Lunch not included Return to Mexico City and overnight at the hotel. Dinner is not included. Lodgment at the hotel

 

 

DAY 3:        MEXICO CITY – DIEGO Y FRIDA TOUR – MEXICO CITY 

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to see what Passion of Life means, Visit of the Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum, which houses thousands of prehispanic pieces collected by this Artist. Short visit to the neighborhood of Coyoacán. View Blue House by Frida Kahlo. Lunch and Dinner not included. Lodgment at the hotel.

 

 

DAY 4:        MEXICO CITY - GUATEMALA CITY 

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the airport to take a flight to Guatemala (Flight ticket not included, suggested flight: Low cost carrier : Upon arrival transfer to selected hotel in Guatemala City and overnight. Lunch and Dinner not included

 

 

DAY 5:        GUATEMALA – CHICHICASTENANGO – ATITLAN LAKE 

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from your hotel to the Guatemalan Highlands to Chichicastenango, a quiche Indian town that jealously keep their traditions, as they melt their pre-Hispanic and catholic rituals at the 400 years old church of Santo Tomas, built on the remains of a Mayan Temple.  At indicated time, transfer to Panajachel, a village located on the shores of Lake Atitlan. Considered as one of the most beautiful lakes around the world, also three volcanoes Atitlan, Tolimán, and San Pedro are protecting the lake. At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to the Hotel for accommodations.

 

 

DAY 6:        SANTIAGO ATITLAN-PANAJACHEL-ANTIGUA GUATEMALA 

Breakfast at the hotel. At indicated time, you will enjoy a morning boat trip to Santiago Atitlán. This village is located on the south part of Lake Atitlan, on the slopes of the Atitlan Volcano. On a very short walking, you will visit the church of Santiago Apostol and then visit the confraternity of Maximón. At indicated time, transfer from Panajachel to Antigua Guatemala. Lunch and Dinner not included

 

 

DAY 7:        CIENFUEGOS – TRINIDAD – SANCTI SPIRITUS   

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from your hotel to visit Antigua Guatemala America’s Colonial Monument, Antigua Guatemala, named so by the beauty and greatness of the colonial buildings. The town is protected by the surrounding eternal guards, the Volcanoes of Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango. Antigua was founded in 1543, as the third capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala and partially destroyed in 1773 by the Santa Marta Earthquakes. Go over cobblestoned streets to visit the Plaza de Armas, Palace of the Captains, the Cathedral, churches, and monasteries. Continue visiting the Jade factory and the handicraft market. You will also visit nearby towns of San Antonio Aguascalientes and Ciudad Vieja. At the end of the tour, return to your hotel for accommodations. Lunch and Dinner not included

 

 

DAY 8 :       ANTIGUA GUATEMALA – AIRPORT – FLORES – TIKAL - FLORES

Box breakfast will be delivered by the hotel. At 04:00 am, you will be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Flores. (Flight ticket not included) At arrival, visit the Archaeological Site of Tikal “Place of Voices”, surrounded by the tropical forest that has kept Tikal in its millennial dream. Visit the main Plaza and the Temple of the Great Jaguar, central acropolis, and more. After lunch (included – no drinks), transfer to the selected hotel for accommodations. Dinner not included

 

 

DAY 9:        FLORES - RIO DULCE OR MARISCOS

Breakfast at the hotel. Tour of the city of Santa Clara, the capital of central Cuba, with a tour of the patrimonial route of the city, which includes the Carmen Park where the villa was founded in 1685 and Leoncio Vidal Park. Visit Ernesto Che Guevara Square, a meeting place with one of the most prominent and charismatic personalities in contemporary world history, where the Museum and the Memorial that bears his name are located. Visit to the monument to the action against the Armored Train. Lunch in a restaurant of the zone. Continue to Varadero. Noche en hotel de Varadero 

 

 

DAY 10:      MARISCOS OR RIO DULCE – QUIRIGUA - COPAN 

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to QUIRIGUA archeological Site (Guatemala), while crossing the road, you can appreciate bananas crops. Then, we arrive to El Florido border and headed to COPAN (Honduras), where Mayan Culture left an indelible imprint in one of the most fascinated settlements: funeral steles, petroglyphs staircase and amazing temples. Lunch and Dinner not included

 

 

DAY 11:      COPAN                                                                                    (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart from you hotel to Copán, Honduras. You will arrive at one of the most impressive archaeological sites in the Maya World: Copán, declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. Enjoy a unique tour through Copan, this archaeological site has a special connection with Quirigua and covers the most impressive dynasty of the Mayan world the dynasty Yax Kuk Mo. Free time to take lunch in Copán village by your own. At the end of the tour return to your hotel for accommodations. Lunch and Dinner not included

 

 

DAY 12:      COPAN - SANTA ANA - JOYA DE CEREN - SAN SALVADOR

Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning, you have to departure from Copan to San Salvador. You will visit Santa Ana route and Joya de Ceren. Then you will be transfer to San Salvador. Accommodations in selected Hotel. Lunch and Dinner not included

 

 

DAY 13:      SAN SALVADOR - JOYA – SUCHITOTO-LA UNIÓN 

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, you will visit San Salvador and a colonial town called Suchitoto, which is located at the northeast of the Capital City. It has an amazing landscape and a Suchitlan Lake that you will appreciate. At the evening, you will departure to La Union. Accommodations in La Union. Lunch and Dinner not included

 

 

DAY 14:      LA UNIÓN - GULF OF FONSECA – POTOSI - LEÓN 

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from your hotel and headed to the municipal dock for a delightful ride on the Fonseca Gulf. You will arrive to Potosi, and after migratory process in Nicaragua frontier, you will head to Leon. At your arrival, you will be transfer to selected hotel. Lunch and Dinner not included

 

 

DAY 15:      LEÓN 

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, you will visit the City, La Recolección, El Calvario, and The Cathedral, where Ruben Dario grave is located. In the evening, you will have time for rest and visit the city. Lunch and Dinner not included

 

 

DAY 16:      LEÓN – MASAYA - GRANADA 

Breakfast at the hotel. You will departure to Granada at the evening. In the morning, you will visit Masaya volcano. Transfer to Granada where you´ll visit the Colonial City. Accommodations in selected hotel. Lunch and Dinner not included

 

 

DAY 17:      GRANADA – DEPARTURE

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the airport to take flight home. Lunch and Dinner not included
