DAY 1: ARRIVE COLOMBO
MEALS: Dinner (By Flight)
Arrival to Sri Lanka, Your chauffeur/ guide will meet you at the airport, and transfer to hotel in Colombo. In the afternoon city tour of Colombo.
Colombo - a drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and Independence Square.
Shopping - visit Mlesna exquisite tea boutique, cashew nut shop, ready-made garments and all sorts at Majestic City. Visit the Lanka Ceramics Centre, a place where you can buy “NORITAKE SET” or other ceramic items, visit the ‘ODEL SHOP’ at Lipton Place. Visit ’BAREFOOT’, ’HOUSE OF FASHION’ and 'BEVERLY STREET' – 24 hours shopping arcade (garments only) at Kollupitya.

DAY 2: COLOMBO – ANURDHAPURA - SIGRIYA
MEALS: Breakfast + Dinner (By Road) 278 kms / 5 hrs appx
After breakfast proceed to Sigiriya via Anuradhapura. Anuradhapura is the most celebrated of Sri Lanka’s ancient ruined cities. The city’s greatest treasures are its dagabas constructed of small sun-dried bricks and hemispherical in shape. The most notable of these dagabas are the Ruvenweli which dates back to the 2nd Century BC and is 300ft in diameter; the Jetawanarama is 370ft and the Thuparama which enshrines the collarbone of the Buddha. The city’s most renewed relic is the sacred Bo Tree which is said to have grown from a branch of the tree under which the Buddha gained enlightenment. It was planted 2250 years ago and is the oldest historic tree in the world. Continue the journey to Sigiriya and check in to the hotel for overnight stay.
DAY 3: SIGIRIYA- POLONNARUWA – SIGRIYA
MEALS: Breakfast + Dinner (By Road) 112 kms / 2 hrs appx
After breakfast (or you may also have early breakfast) visit Sigiriya rock fortress. Climb the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress that is a world heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The ''Lion Rock'' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the ''Heavenly Maidens'' of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster. In the afternoon visit Pollonnaruwa. Polonnurawa-located at a distance of 216 km from Colombo-was the capital of Sri Lanka in medieval times. Used by the Sri Lankan kings as a 'country residence' from the 7th century, Polonnurawa became Sri Lanka's capital in the 11th century AD. During its time the city was fortified with three concentric walls, beautified with parks and gardens and sanctified by many a shrine and sacred place. The city and the surrounding area were watered by a unique irrigational complex known as the Sea of Parakrama (Parakrama Samudra). Overnight stay in Sigiriya.
DAY 4: SIGRIYA - DAMBULLA - KANDY
MEALS: Breakfast + Dinner (By Road) 98 kms / 3 hrs appx
After breakfast proceed to Kandy. En route visit Dambulla Cave temple and specie gardens in Matale. Located at an elevation of 1118 feet from the sea level, a massive rock rises from the surrounding plains of Dambulla of 600 feet high and over 2000 feet in length. It is home to the Worlds most acclaimed Cave complex of magnificent Buddha Images and Rock Paintings of vivid colours and shapes constructed and painted from around 2nd Century BC (Anuradhapura era) and continued up to the Kandyan era of the 18th Century. Sinhalese people call it as ' Dambulu Gala' (Dambulla Rock) and the Temple is called as the ' Rangiri Dambulu Viharaya' (Golden Rock Dambulla Temple). Continue the journey to Kandy. En route visit a Spice Garden at Matale - you will see many spice gardens at Matale where Cinnamon, Cardamom, Pepper Creepers and all other spice trees, plants and creepers are planted for visitors to see them. Spice products are also available for those who would like to buy them. At all Spice Gardens visitors are taken round explaining each tree and plant and at the end explaining the use of them in food preparations. Also visit Batik Factory - where you can see the manufacture of beautiful Batik prints. These shops contain a wide variety of Batik items. In the afternoon city tour of Kandy – the last kingdom of the Sinhalese, taking in the sights of Upper Lake Drive and the Market Square on the way to pay homage to one of the most sacred religious sites in Sri Lanka. The Temple of the Tooth or Dalada Maligawa is believed to house the ‘tooth relic’ of the Lord Buddha. Evening: Visit Gems Palace showroom and Kandyan Cultural dance show. Overnight stay in Kandy.
DAY 5: KANDY – PINNAWELA – BENTOTA
MEALS: Breakfast + Dinner (By Road) 146 kms / 4 hrs appx
After breakfast transfer to Bentota. We visit Royal Botanical Gardens with its wide and rare collection of tropical and temperate, exotic and indigenous flora, and its unique orchid house. Also, en route visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage provides visitors with the best chance of seeing a large number of elephants at close quarters. It is most interesting to visit at feeding time to see the baby elephants being bottle fed and the entire herd being taken for a bath to the river nearby from 09.00 ‐ 10.00 hrs. Continue the journey to Bentota and check – in to the hotel. Overnight stay in Bentota.
DAY 6: BENTOTA
MEALS: Breakfast + Dinner
Breakfast at Hotel. Optional Galle Excursion (Rates given below separately). Return to Hotel. Overnight in Bentota.
DAY 7: BENTOTA
MEALS: Breakfast + Dinner
Relax at the beach. Overnight stay in Bentota.
DAY 8: BENTOTA - COLOMBO DEPART COLOMBO
By Road / By Flight 90 Kms. / 2 hrs. appx.
Departure transfer to onward destination.
